I made up a little guide here for those of you looking to use Speedfan to control the fans in your system. Note: Speedfan is not guaranteed to work properly with all motherboards so use it at your own risk. This is a subset of the hardware that SpeedFan can properly work with. Please note that this is not the listing of the motherboards where SpeedFan is able to access readings from temperature sensors and S.M.A.R.T. hard disks. As an hardware monitoring tool, SpeedFan can work almost on every hardware. Using Speedfan but the box where my fans should be listed is empty. I have 3 listed Temps, all around 40C, but no fans. If I try to "Configure" then choose "Fans" there is nothing listed. Is there something I can do on my end to detect the fan? Thanks.

SpeedFan can even access S.M.A.R.T. info and show hard disk temperatures. SpeedFan supports SCSI disks too. The motherboard has a total of 8 fan connectors: 2 x CPU Fan connector (4 -pin) 3 x Chassis Fan connector (4 -pin) 3 x Optional Fan connector (4 -pin) All of the fan connector speeds are detected except for the optional fans.
